Chesterfield has a strong community of climate activists who want to see the changes needed to create a healthy planet. At Create Change Chesterfield’s last event, the People’s Assembly, it became clear that a top priority was BUILDING this community.
Many of us, whether climate activist or not, recognise that we need to make changes to build a healthy planet for the future. Spreading The Message allows us explore how we could reach out and work collectively to build this future. Bringing more people into our activities could transform the impact that we have.
Create Change Chesterfield encourages deliberative, thoughtful and creative ways of working through problems. At Spreading The Message we will have the chance to learn from experts; Caroline Hickman from University of Bath an expert in climate psychology and anxiety, Emma Knight-Strong sustainability coach and Chartered Environmentalist and Simon Paterson an expert in turning ideas into social action projects.
As well as learning from experts the day will include sparks of creativity that allow us to embrace creative thinking. During the day you will develop your personalised plan for what to do next. We will all be ready to take our next steps and widen the community of people in our town that are ready to build a positive future for our planet.
Create Change holds welcoming events, open to everyone. This is a free event, with lunch provided and with childcare on the day.
